The Difference Between 20-Something and 30-Something…
Shayne and I went to a fun, funky, potluckish dinner party last night at my friend Vanessa’s house. She’s got supercool friends and it was a great evening. One of my favorite moments was when talking to her new neighbors, a twenty-something newly-married couple with very white teeth and friendly smiles.
My good friend asked how Chloe was doing and this young couple said, “Oh, how great, is Chloe your dog?!”
“Um, no, she’s our daughter.”
“Oh my gosh, that’s so great, I mean Chloe is a great name for a kid too, not just a dog. ”
Oh dear. I’ve been chuckling all day.

*snort* Should I send Chloe some doggie treats for Valentine’s Day? Too funny. I know that one day soon someone will ask me if these little ones are having fun with”grandma”. Fortunately it’s become hip to be an older parent. Maybe I’ll come up with a zingy one liner about my hot 19 year old husband…….bwaaa haa haa.
Gosh, Steph. I really want to get in good with them. Couldn’t you have just pretended, at least for a little while, that Chloe IS a dog???? How mortifying.
Sorry, V., next time, I promise - Chloe will be a Pomeranian or a Basset Hound!
